Farming is rarely without its challenges, but hardly ever without its rewards, either.

When winter turns into spring, when spring morphs into summer, life is usually sweet. The sun warms the fields, plants emerge and stretch toward the light. In the fall, when that light begins to fade, the sun goes golden and work slows to an even pace.

Then winter brings its sleep, storing Earth’s energy for the next round of life.

The photo galleries that follow show that cycle playing out here on the farm.
